DIY:
1- Think about it
2- Talk about it
3- Argue about it
4- Agonize over parts selection
5- spend outrageous amounts of money for "exotic" parts
6- spend weeks doing PCB layouts
7- Start Building it
8- Put it on the shelf
9- Say you will get back to it someday
10- Sell it to someone else cheap to get it out of the way (or fund another project take your pick)
Sounds like you got a bunch of parts cheap from me at the last BAF!
And my favorite:
DIYAudio
is
an homage to NP.
My favorite, too. It has this nice double meaning and I would love to wear this cool-smily on a shirt!
Another edition of shirts could cover the needs of noobs like me:
diyAudio - Cavemen in disguise!
"Better a smug alert than a smog alert."
"I may look like a model, but I'm an electrical engineer."
"Hybrid applies to more than just cars."
"Analog, digital, or hybrid, we know it all."
"A digital may be better in theory than a hybrid with a DAC, but it ain't smug."
"Idle power - how low can you go?"
"Intel HD just isn't HD enough."

"Hertz so good"
I saw that shirt in contest pics in QST magazine.
I groaned then too
...do they sell "Nobby's " brand nuts anywhere other than OZ
Yes!
And just out of interest: although not so prevalent these days Nobby has been a traditional nick-name for anyone with the surname Clark for ages here in the UK. I'm not sure of the actual history, but a couple of possibilities are noted here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobby
Puns are wurst sort of humour
Perhaps not puns then. Allusions are better.
Like the T-shirt front that said:
"There are 10 types of people ..."
and on the rear it said:
"Those who understand binary ..."
cheers
Doug
