no idea i take it second hand with no lamp its good now with flashlight because have zoomable lens in it
i have put the long part of the flashlight without the bat. cap for better cooling

total cost for the projector and flash light is
~50eur for the projector second hand
~25eur for the flashlight
power supply for free /i had one from before/
soo for near 75eur is good deal and the quality is good enought for all my needs =]

For the LED mod:
What type of LED did you use and how many lumens rated for that LED?
What Fresnels and FL did you use?
Looks like a simple setup (not necessarily a simple process though) that has decent results!

i put a fresnel lens on the flash ligh for better concentration of the beam
because when you pull out the lens to make smaller dot u have lost light with single lens
with second lens you use more light from the flash light
i made pics on the flashlight and what dot it make on 1meter on the wall
the big led i have works on 12v and i think is near 25w
i think almost all fresnel you can find will do the job
you just need to test the spaces from led to the fresnel and the first lens in the PJ

Did the same thing with Epson EMP 71. Quite simple. But...
Projector fans are running like crazy even when there's nothing to cool... When i plug projector to mains power (orange led constantly glowing) i can hear fan a little bit (i think it should be completely quiet). When i turn the projector on (green led starts blinking and then become constantly lit) all fans are running at 100% which seems to be quite loud for my little room... Any ideas what to do? I just shorted two of three wires going from motherboard to lamp power supply (which means that lamp is working) and left everything else just as it was before (fans, thermocouples, thermal fuses). Is your modded EMP also this loud?

Well... i've come with workaround to keep things bit quiter...
1.) standby fan is in power supply and is not controlled by motherboard therefore it would need to disassemble whole power supply. anyway... i am lazy to do this.
2.) there are 4 fans. each has 3 wires: power supply (RED+ BLACK-) and WHITE for detection of RPM pulses. When no RPM signal is detected then projector will turn all fans at maximum speed, shutdown lamp and blink red. I guess i can disconnect 3 of these fans when using LED instead of lamp. Then i can short all RPM inputs together, so single fan will be faking 3 other fans. I have tested this by disconnecting single fan and using RPM signal from other to bypass RPM error.
Anyway... I am still looking for ideas how to lower RPMs of all fans instead of completely disconnecting them... I think it's much louder than it's supposed to be. It's possible to limit current using resistor or add some PWM controllers, but there's already PWM controller on mobo, so i think it can be tweaked somewhere else...
