ESP P3A compared to off-the-shelf amps?

DIY is open to many fields and there is no wrong or right to where you choose to involve yourself and feel satisfaction from. You can diffuse your own semiconductors too: but I suspect there are few that really 'DIY' this part of their project.

I am trying to decide if want to go with the miniDSP route or use analog active filtering. The miniDSP 2X4 HD has a optical input, so it would pair great to the toslink on my preamp by eliminating one the DAC to ADC iterations.

The analog active crossovers ideas are the Rolls SX45 Stereo Two-Way Mini Crossover or the one of three active crossovers on ESP...
