Hey generg.
Have you listened to the BA1, actually more importantly have you listened to the Balanced BA1 in isolation to the front end, using semisouth on output?
That is my next plan, along with this F6, and Balanced BA3.

I now no longer need gain, so my gut keeps telling me to go with balanced single ended source follower (ie power buffer) or source follower circlotron.

I am falling behind now. There are so many ideas to try.
I love this F6 schematic.

I heard an unbalanced BA-1 with Semisouth in the gain stage and IRF as CCS without the fronted driven directly by Pumpkin about two years ago....

It was one of the highlights of my short Pass Forum career, I only continued because I wanted to build more.....

Later I ordered more SSR100 from tea-bag and replaced even the CCS IRFs with SSs but the sound got more sharp in the syllables so I went back to use the SS only in the gain position.

there is a way to live through : just decide that you'll build each new Papa's project strictly in form of one mono prototype ( and that one will constantly evolve/revolve) .....

learning guaranteed , fun too , and choices are much simpler

The Sunn Concert Series ( Slave and Lead ) uses this same topology in a bridged mode.
