I recently purchased Fountek FR58EX and FR88EX full-range drivers. The packaging box of each model contains a pair. "Matched pair" is printed on the box. Does Fountek really put two matched drivers in a box? I will check the drivers to see how are they matched.
I will build enclosures for the drivers as well. But no solid plan yet.

I bought two set of fountek fe85 to make a computer and a TV speakers set.
The computer ones are adapted from the martello enclosure in a 2L (internal) and reach 80hz : tuned at 95hz(low level but I heard them 😀)
The TV one are a iBIB (inverted bigger is better) enclosure in around 8L (internal) and this one reache 55hz ! tuned at 62 hz. Still lacking bass for action movies but really nice for the place it take (15*19.7*73.5 cm including feet).
According to the bass extension you're aiming, you should have a look to the Frugel Horn Lite or a iBIB (the two design look very similar).
Planet10 may have a fonken-type plan for this driver.

Thank you for the links. I initially want to do sealed and passive radiator boxes.
I used CLIO Pocket to measure impedance of the drivers (no run-in). TS parameters were derived using delta mass method (2 g). First figure shows free air and added mass impedance curves for FR58EX (red/green and orange/blue). Second figure shows free air and added mass impedance curves for FR88EX (red/green and orange/blue).

I have just completed my first one of a pair of Fr58ex desktop speakers in slightly under 1 litre Bass reflex boxes.
With a bit of equalising to compensate for baffle step and a boost a 64hz this sounds fantastic, smooth, detailed and for its size great bass and soundstage.
Unfortunately I damaged the second driver and am waiting for the replacement.😡
Hope you like them too.🙂
