Folks,
WTH is going on with USPS shipping from the DIY store?
I ordered Aleph Jzm parts kit and Keratherm insulators on October 23 with USPS shipping.
Yesterday I got an e-mail from the DIY store that my shipment has a failed delivery attempt. Specifically, that failed attempt happened yesterday (on Saturday) at 6:52 PM and the USPS claims "No Access to Delivery Location". We have been at home so it WAS an access and also the mailbox was accessible..
Anyone has had this problem previously? Why can't they just put stuff in the mailbox? Or it's "Signature required"??
More importantly, what could be done to get the package? USPS is going to repeat a delivery attempt tomorrow (Monday); however, I don't believe them now.

Interesting. I live in Belgium and had the same situation UPS claiming failed attempt three times in two days, and at all times/days we were at home and no, the doorbell wasn't broken. It seems that when the delivery guy runs out of time this can happen.
Resolved by calling the local office and stating you want to log a complaint. All of a sudden it was correctly delivered the next day ...

Thank you for the reply.
@kotofei
As Jan mentioned, sometimes the postal service person may mark a delivery as “attempted” even when the parcel is still awaiting delivery in his van.
No need to worry just yet. Please reach out to your local post office to inquire about your parcel status. They typically resolve this 99% of the time with a quick call to arrange a re-delivery.
If the issue remains unresolved, please feel free to contact the store helpdesk at contact@diyaudiostore.com. Thank you.

An "attempted delivery" noted at an odd hour, from any carrier, in my experience is likely to be a delivery driver entering a fake delivery attempt in order to meet a quota that they have. This is a phenomenon worldwide.Folks,

A real attempt will then, typically, be made the next day, or when the driver is back on schedule and not running behind.
This is my assessment, in general. It seems that when the delivery guy runs out of time this can happen.
I recommend this.Resolved by calling the local office and stating you want to log a complaint.
The package was delivered next day without any calls to the post office. Most likely, it was a fake delivery attempt.
^ Hiya!
Shipping has started to increase (again) based on my anecdotal knowledge. I'm don't ship a ton, but enough to have it impact my wallet.
As an example, I just took the exact package dimensions and weight of the Iron Pre SE Supplemental kit and plugged it into "Pirateship.com"
To ship that package from the NE United States to a random Yorkshire UK address was 38.01 USD, using their cheapest option available to me with a signature requirement and insurance. $30.11 + $5.90 + $2.00.
I don't have a DHL account, but I checked FedEx. It was no cheaper.
So, £29 for a tracked and insured package seems in-line with market prices (if not very good). YMMV, of course.

Well thanks for checking that out Patrick. I guess I need to re-align my expectations of US shipping costs ! From the UK I could send a fairly big and heavy box to pretty much anywhere in Europe for a similar cost.
@getgoin sorry for the radio silence on this. They are actually in the store right now, we're just waiting to get the listing up. I think the new Deluxe chassis (2U, 3U, 4U, 5U) should be live by Tuesday next week. If you sign up for the back in stock notifications on the existing Deluxe chassis I'll make sure you get an email when they go live. Thank you for your patience.
Hello all. Given the lack of back panel kits in stock in the store.
Could I ask what the preferred PCB standoff height is?
Thanks
Nick

There is no preference in height per se. The kits include 5mm. Those (to me) are ideal for mounting output devices with Keratherm insulators. I personally use taller ones (I think they're 7mm) when I mount devices with the thicker Aluminum Oxide pads as insulators.
Cheers,
Patrick

Hi Jason,
I was particularly wanting 5U 400mm UMS Heatsink (with square brackets) to finish a case. They are still marked "Soldout". Will there be some for sale? Did they come and go already?
Thanks

I checked Modushop. Heat sinks yes, rails no. They are sold separately. There is a link on their website to the diyaudiostore for rails but the link is dead. I couldn’t find the rails in the store or in Modushop. Do you know what’s up with this— doesn’t make sense.
Hi @getgoin! Sure thing, the rails can be purchased at this link https://modushop.biz/site/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=966
