I have an amp on my bench now and have a question about diode markings.
It's a glass diode with 3 thin stripes, Black, yellow yellow, and a last one broad yellow stripe.
It measures about 0v653 reverse, and 0v527 forvard.
Is it a current diode?

As far as the color banding is concerned-

Thank's to all of you.
It looks like a 1N4440 diode. I googled and found a picture that matched exactly.
So if they are leading in both directions I'll swap them.
I guess that 1N4148 will be good enough?

That would mean it is broken.

Maybe I missed something, have to check from my computer, hard to check those PDF's on the phone.
Those diodes are DO-35. They use the same for protection over the relay coil.
The ones that measure bad are used for biasing predrivers.
I have tracked the cirquit, no schematic available.
I guess a couple of milliamps will pass thru, but I'll check what LTspice says about it.

If it's really 1N4440, Motorola databook return 1000V 1A diode. 1N4148 will explode !
see 1N4007
I even found 1000 V, 10 A with 100 A surge current... That doesn't make sense in a DO-35 package.
Could it be a 1N4448 with the grey ring mistaken for a black one? A 1N4448 is similar to a 1N4148, but with a tighter forward voltage spec.
If you are sure about the use, a lot of standard diodes can do the job. Those diodes are DO-35. They use the same for protection over the relay coil. The ones that measure bad are used for biasing predrivers.

Just going by your picture with 3 yellow bands and if my eyesight is correct a "blue " band ? that would correspond to = 4446.
Confirm where is it or what it´s doing, that will speak volumes about needed parameters.
No need to painfully write the whole schematic, but at least the 4 or 5 components or rails connected to it.
That is doable.
Is it wired in parallel with a relay coil fed from 15V?
Is it biasing a driver transistor or part of a protection circuit?
Etc etc etc.

I'm working on a Dynamic Precision DP-1000.
Someone have been messing around with NPN's and PNP's so I have to figure out how it's ment to work.
Floating rails with a standard 5 pairs BJT OPS, and 5 pairs between rails and ground !
Those diodes are there for biasing the predrivers so to me 1N4148 would do the work.
The clipping cirquit have four of them that works and they measure 0V555 in forward direction and blocks in reverse.
