You're in Canada so make sure your items are in N. America. Otherwise they come from the UK and my experience was it took forever, and was poorly packed.
Many of my items came from the UK. Some of the orders come in 3 separate shipments. I have no issues with the time and actually I'm impressed how fast they can get it here from the UK.
The packaging is terrible. I'm lucky nothing has been damaged so far. Also Newark is not very green - I get very large boxes with one item sitting in the bottom and a large amount of packing paper filling the box. Why? The item will fit in a box 5% of the size it comes in

I ordered some schurter power inlets from them that were at a good price and were supposed to be in stock.
They didn’t calculate shipping at checkout.
When I got the email regarding my final invoice the shipping was astronomical…more than the parts I ordered.
When I inquired, they told me the parts were shipping from Europe somewhere.
Tried to cancel the order, but it was too late.
I’ll never use them again.
I almost got caught by that myself, but lucked onto a very well hidden "shipping from UK" note. The shipping cost was ridiculous. I find every time that I go onto their site it's the same thing. Total waste of time.
I have made 5-7 orders through this year with no problem. But just recently it has been terrible. After submitting my order I checked on it in the order history and the total went from 53.44 to 77 something. So I checked and they changed two of the items to more than what the regular price showing on the website was. I contacted customer service and they were a bit difficult but finally agreed I was owed a refund of 24 dollars. I just have to wait for the order to be delivered than contact them and ask for the refund. Kinda frustrating they can change your order after you submit it. That being said they only charge 11 dollars cdn to ship everything, including items coming from the UK. Heck the packaging these items come in cost more than 11 bucks.
Newark is a perfectly good supplier, I've been ordering from them for 40 years. They tend to be better for electrical stuff and equipment. For electronic parts, everybody tends to use Digikey and Mouser. There are many vendors that are viable, you can use Octopart to find who has a particular part in stock. Just don't order from Amazon, Alibaba, or any of those non-specialty suppliers if you can avoid it, too many fakes around.
