the little peak gets used a lot - i had it on today in my study just driving some old wharfedale diamonds while i keep the better little speakers in the lounge room (they were made for the peak, but sounded too good with my other amp....)
the transformers were an essential upgrade - the bass was pretty much non-existant until i got them. now it is pretty wonderful. not like my 2A3 SE, but really nice nevertheless. the trannies are tomiko one i picked up off ebay - 8k/10k to 4 / 8ohms. they are much heftier with a lot extra iron - i am unaware of what the exact differences are, but you can see from the picture of them side by side there is a significant difference....
i think i pretty much covered everything i did - i have just been listening and not tinkering - a sign that it is a good thing, plus the fact that i do not know enough and would likely blow it up....
how much did the one on ebay go for?
nice amp, and not for lots of volume of course, but keeps me happy in this small room just with very inefficient diamonds even - recommended heartily to put some effort into it!!!

Thanks for reply, orangealpaca and TheGimp, I guess there will be some work for me over weekend. I will try to post some pics if enough time. I actually have a pair of relatively efficient PEAK speakers, and I have just done boxes for them (not painted or stained yet), so I think it may sound pretty good, judging from what you are saying... And about power supply, I have attached what I think may improve quality of sound too, just inductor would be somewhat smaller - like 4, 5 H, but I am not exactly sure would it put some strain on rectifier tube...any suggestion?
