I tried this name based on the standard NJF.asy. The LTspice response is:
Missing model definition for 2SK182

[In my system, M Rothachers 2SJ28 works on a standard PJF.asy].

LTSpice JFet Symbol to SIT

I tried it as a njf in LTSpice and it did not work either. It did work as a SIT using my own SIT symbol that I had created from scratch. So I tried to modify the jfet symbols, both n and p channels, to match my own SIT symbol and it worked.

So here is how I did it:

1. Find the njf.asy file in the LTSpice\lib\sym folder and double click to open it in LTSpice, then save it as nsit.asy

2. Right click on NJF. In my screen shot I had the p-channel open so I right clicked on PJF as this works for PJF to PSIT too

3. Change PJF (or NJF) to <Type>, then OK

4. Go to Edit Attributes and open

5. Change "Prefix" entry to X, "Value" entry to <Type>, "Description" entry to nSIT, then "OK"

6. nSIT can now be selected as a component

7. To enter component name, hover mouse arrow over component symbol until "hand with pointed finger" appears, then right click

The same can be done with pjf.asy to create psit.asy.

Just added a screen shot of a successful run.

Thanks Ben, I got it working; and now looking at the op points.

How to have it under 60-70 Watts and still get 10V RMS out? I have an 110mH inductor (big iron), so use that in the sim. And I can get a 1H 1A choke, smaller, 10 ohm DC.. . . but usefull in Higher voltage range. And I can reuse a LL transformer at about 600 ohms prim.

SIT for low and high V.jpg

Probably the hockey puck is not needed for my small speakers . .

Soundhappy...I purchased some TW10 washer/inserts from a link you had posted toe bay but they won't fit my Tokins. Can you confirm it was the TW10? They might have sent me the wrong ones. Yours appear opaque as well and these are translucent. I need to find my calipers to verify the size, but if you have the dimensions handy I would appreciate it!

Actually I see what's happening. The photos don't line up with the specs. He has TW9 as the shorter stubbier of the two in the specs, but the photo clearly shows the TW10 as the shorter stubbier one. Guess it is the TW9 that we need.

I contacted the seller to let him know of the discrepancy.

@ EnochRoot

I always verify links twice
and on another Ebay shop picture we see the same TW10 reference
with diameter B=5mm the good one for all Tokin.

Please write us the answer from the seller.
Do somebody make mistake and just shipp wrong diameter
( TW9 on the picture) ?

Thank you very much :happy1: Kind regards

I see this picture make a confusion and different interpretation what the correct product reference is.
Strange two sellers make the same TW10 ~ TW9 mistake ? Can't believe 😕

Repeat always the diameter B = 5 mm is good for big SIT's

First my mesurements was made on real Tokin transistors.

The correct isTW10 like on the left side picture and match the same reference name in other Ebay shop,
anyway all dimensions A= 10 mm B= 5 mm C= 4 mm D= 5.5 mm E= 1.5mm

I used a Hammond 193V choke (150mH, 3A, 1 Ohm DCR). Your choke has higher DCR so your Vds is lower. My Vds is around 35.5V and I can get 10Vrms out with 3Vp in. If you raise your V+ so that your Vds is higher, you should be able to get 10Vrms out. I revised my sim to a choke with 110mH 1.5 Ohm DCR, and V+ of 38.5V and 15Vp out was feasible.

One thing to note is that the sim for SITs in common source mode usually gives lower THD than in real life.

The pic is a dual-die 2SK82, credit goes to Michael Rothacher iirc.

.

sooo - a 2SK180 or 2SK82 can be opened 😱, the bonding wires rewelded to new pins, and voila, a perfectly matched pair of transistors . . .
Because the have been perfectly matched before paralleling them, oytherwise they would run away immediately. Just a common case and drain connector .

now ...order such easy refurb work. The chip factories have the equipment.

SciFi? 🙄

Thanks, I could maybe repurpose my LL2752/90mA, all 4 prim in series, 5 ohm DC, 5 H into 8 ohm, allows 500 mA. At 150 Volt, it will waste some amplification but I could get a nice low DF too.
[I have not checked yet on the choke yet: does it have a flux gap or not? It is from a sun-bank]

Anyway, with my low requirement in watts there is no need to go hockey-puck I expect; just higher cap which requires a >> 20 mA ? driver stage . But are there other benefits?
I saw there exosit K183 HP versions.
