hold my beer: walmart subwoofer build

Looks like a fun build. 🙂
I would maybe try to notch out the tree peaks centered around ~47, ~56 and ~67hz as well.
Did you try with a sharper 48db/oct LR or BW lp filter a little bit higher up?

You built two subs?
Have you checked measurements between channels? Sometimes one will have a peak where the other has a dip in-room.

It was fun! Those peaks are likely due to room modes and mic's position in the room, since my bookshelf speaker had the same curve shape around those frequencies. I hesistate to try to correct those too much because it could inappropriately lessen the output in some other listening position.

I only built one so far. Maybe I'll build a second one but if I do I think I'd go with a different design or woofer. Also chopping a speaker box in half so that the edges are all completely flush was a major PITA that I'm hesitant to repeat unless for a really good cause.

I have a spare walmart woofer, I'm thinking of just returning it as I want more low frequency extension and I feel these woofers wont do it for me, with an Fs of 37Hz. But I'm a noob so maybe I'm wrong. What do you think?
