PC, built in sound chipset or soundcard and interface hardware (protection, amplification/attenuation) and software do most everything better than a 'scope for loudspeaker measurement frequencies

For electronics get a scope ( they work at much higher freqs. To see instability), for speaker testing a sound card is much better, the software does a lot more ( freq. plots, thd , waterfalls etc. ) and it will also generate test signals.

Sorry been a bit vague in my question.

I have REW. Berihnger mic etc and using laptop for general measuring but looking into trying to see the wave exiting the horn? If this is possible

I have seen pics of oscilloscope displays attached to certain speaker builds Danley, XRK build? Small syns, or bwaslow i think regards square wave

In other words do you simply connect a mic up to an oscilloscope and plonk a frequency through the driver?
