I was about to say it, however in my experience even 5V can be enough and the important thing is that they are balanced outputs.
In most cases there is no buffer that sounds better than no buffer. IMO
I also use no buffer board from Koifarm.

Sometimes you read about using a different Opamp for a Purifi / Eigentakt poweramp, is this also applicable for Nilai??
I should mention there is another constructor of Hyoex/Purifi amps that offers intelligent layout, useful features, excellent build quality, and generous user-defined options. This is a Canadian company with operations in HK. One individual in the ASR forums has bought one and his experience has been overwhelmingly positive.

Imo, such an upgrade would be like replacing the wheels of a Ferrari with roller skates. It should be mentioned that such upgrades have been performed on low distortion class d amps to introduce some pleasant distortion, and people do tend to enjoy them. If you're interested in Nilai, but don't want such a low distortion sound, the easy solution to my thinking would be to experiment with partnering equipment (to my ears, Nilai sounds uncannily like whatever preamp precedes it haha)
Nothing present in Nilai will limit the sound you're looking for. It's like a blank slate, which allows you to focus your search for audio bliss on other links in the chain. When I bought mine, I thought "Now I won't have to think about amps anymore". Have not been disappointed

The text says clearly Nilai.... They added a 2nd ps to have a full dual mono and increase the power and performances vs the standard nilai kit. Boards are marked nilai btw
Yes, I don't see Nilai yet. I was looking at the Purifi 1ET9040BA with dual Hypex SMPS1200A180 power supplies (CY-1ET9040BA-02). Here are photos of that amp that were recently posted to ASR.
If you look at the objective measurements of both Hypex Ncore (any generation) and Purifi amps, you see that they are beyond our hearing resolution. So what you use is in reality not that important. They are transparent and the differences in sound are so small (when implemented right) that they don't matter anymore. Icepower was not that quality at all (but i did not hear the latest generations yet). The ones i heared sounded harsh and britle (everything i don't like about class D). Ncore (any generations) and Purifi don't have that, they are gain on a wire. The older Hypex UcD amps are that not yet, but came close.
And yes, you can do that also with class AB. The Benchmark amp is a perfect example of that. But those are not that efficient and cost a lot. Class D can do the same but cheaper, smaller and more power efficient.
But Purifi is on objective reasons the most advanced now i think. Not that Hypex Nilai or NCx is far behind of that it matters in reality. And even some cheaper builds on mainstream chips reach that level of neutrality today (which is good). Class D is (almost) mature tech now, the only thing is that they are still to expensive for the mainstream market that wants everything cheap. The cheap class D mainstream sold on all kind of platforms are still not at that level.
But if you like a bit colourations, these are not the right amps for you. Then you're better off with older styles with higher harmonic distortion (like the Nelson Pass designs or good tube amps). And many like those older designs way more on subjective taste base (which is not an issue i think).

Everything fills up (less quickly). More space around all instruments/vocals. 'Quieter'. Better 'extinction' behavior. More control, more details. Better dynamics. Delicious punch (less messy)/ tighter when comparing it to Ncore from earlier days.
In general, I find the Purifi more analytical (reproducing a bit more detail) and a bit wider stereo image. Sometimes also a bit more depth. But occasionally with a bright edge. The Nilai is then a more fluid / musical (which I like more).
