Infocus X2 lamp Voltage

Does anyone know what operating voltage and current is on the SP-LAMP-018 / SHP58 HG Burners for the infocus X2? I'm trying to see if I can find an equivalent 200W Metal Halide lamp with same Voltage and current (of course similar size) and see if that works on my Projector. I know that sunnylpw over at Lumenlabs has successfully used an MH lamp on a SHP ballast in his mitsubishi projector. Thanks in advance.

Well, it depends what you want it for. I've got a few projectors I play with to pass time but I have one which i have set up. If it is for just an alternative lamp replacement, well let me tell you now, from my experience, nothing compares to the mercury vapour or metal halide lamps. LED's, not enough brightness and HID Automotive Xenons, bright on smaller screens in which the whole purpose of a projector is thrown out of the window.

Metal Halides are AC and SHP is DC so that don't work either. Can work for a little bit but will eat the electrodes very quickly. Your best option might be just to buy a burner (if your in the UK) from htp://www.lumenarc.co.uk and install it on your existing reflector.

Some metal halides can run on AC UHP/P-VIP ballast but by trial and error and experimenting with different light sources and ballast, you can lose a bit of money and in my experience, you could have just bought a replacement burner in the first place. Hope that helps 🙂
