I don't think i'm hard on myself: just objective enough.
I hate to have to use translator and i learned native english people are for most of them very tolerant of foreigner mistakes. I don't know if it is a cultural trait because of historical facts ( Commonwealth for UK and multicultural foundation for US?) or from something else but it's refreshing wrt my own culture where people are much less forgiving ( non educated people are the worst in here about that... or Parisian... it's no surprise French are often seen as arogant people imo).
For the second well, i think in 15 years i learned a bunch about things i had small knowledge about at first and interest into. Learning here helped to connect the dots between things i already known but didn't understood. It helped to get the big picture.
Still do and why i like this place so much.
