Jl 500/1 Power Supply Drive transistors

I have a JL 500/1 with a blown power supply. Can someone please help me find replacement power supply drive transistors.

Hi Perry,

I have the power supply FETs, I meant the transistors that drive the power supply FETS. one is labeled CHC and the other is a BD, I was wondering if you have the part number for some equivalent transistors that are readily available.

For the output it uses IRF540z, would it be ok to use all 540n or 540? the IRF540Z can handle more current.

My mistake. I use the 2SB1260 and the 2SD1898. Someone else stated that they used the 2SA1797 and the 2SC4672. I've never used those. I've never had any problem using the ones I listed.

For the outputs in any class D amp, I'd suggest using exact replacements. Some amps are finicky. If you use something different, I suggest thorough testing.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I will order the IRF540Z and the transistors you provided. Can I use these as power supply drive transistors on other JL slash series amps?

They are good general purpose transistors. They should be good for virtually any power supply as drivers but I can't remember using them in any other JL amp.

I have also used the 2SCR553P5T100 and 2SAR553P5T100 (both available from digikey) in the 500/1 power supply drive circuit.
