I have a JL Audio XD1000/v2 mono sub amp which powers on and produced audio but it's not making anywhere near the power it should be, it struggles to power a single 6x9 speaker even at full gain.
The amp is stable, doesn't overheat and internal visual inspection of the 3 boards and connectors appear fine.
Any help appreciated, thanks

Check the voltage input switch. My guess is it's set to High, when it should be set to low.
I'm assuming your input source to the amp is RCA's coming in from an aftermarket head unit? If so, those RCA's typically only produce up to 3V.
The input level switch should be set to low when the input to the amp is coming from "...Conventional preamp level outputs"
The input level switch should be set to high when using "high-output preamp level signals as well as speaker level output from source units and small amplifiers"
See page 7 of the amplifier's owners manual.

Thanks the switch is set to low, audio is still low and distorted.
Could the output devices be on their way out or would they cometely fail?

I've cleaned the switches and checked the connections on the switch and inputbsens/crossover boards
Are you using a signal source with grounded RCA shields?
Was this problem the reason it was sent to you for repair?
What is the amplitude of the rail-rail oscillation?

The amp was sent due to this reason,
I'll try a different signal source as I had a similar issue with another amp

No difference after changing signal source,
How do I test the rail to rail oscillation without a scope?

I assumed that you had one. I didn't bother to read the sig.
Without knowing this amp and without a scope, I don't know if I'll be able to help.
What's the DC voltage on each of the speaker terminals?
