Kent RO water purifiers

This is weird.

I've tried to make contact with this Indian company but no luck. I know we have Indian members and hopefully one of them can help.

This is a big Indian company and they make among other things some excellent water purifiers but I simply havn't found a way to make contact with them.

I w to know if I can buy one of their water purifiers - are they available in the EU or if not how I can get details about the dimensions of input pipework etc. How much they cost and how much for postage, many questions.

Can any Indian member help me?

No Cal it doesn't I've tried to find a way to email them with no success which is weird. If I was in India yes. I'v never encountered this kind of difficulty before. I know how much they cost in India, converted from rupees to Euros the size I want is just under é200.

I was hoping an Indian member could help but as yet none have replied

That number is for the service department. These are ten digit Indian GSM numbers. ISD code +91 needs to be prefixed when dialing in from abroad.

+91 9582123456 is the sales department contact.

Try between 10AM to 5PM IST . Am tied down next two/three days , if you don't get response I shall dig in on Monday.

Regards,

Anwesh

Anwesh,
thanks a lot. India is producing a lot of good products. Had a strong industrial base before the British took over and forced Indians to buy British made products. I've checked out the market for water purifiers and this company Kent make what I think are the best. They have passed tests in the USA and other places. I find it strange they don't offer their product in other countries. Amazon India sells it.
I'm lucky I live in a commune where the tap water tastes fine, we stopped buying mineral water. Literally across the railway line is another commune where the tap water tastes foul.

There are very few places on the planet where you can say that the tap water is really clean. Forever chemicals are now part of our physical being and most tap water contains pesticide. It wasn't until recently that I found out that rainwater has pesticides as well. I plan to move from this commune and the tap water isn't as good hence my interest in water purifiers.

RO filters (including Kent) are very similar to these products - it is better you buy locally.

The standard domestic water pipe in India is 1/2". However RO filters seem to have
a 1/4" (6mm) input , so you need an adapter , which is usually included in the RO product / kit.

They don't have the UV function. It is this function that makes the Kent so good. the 8 litre model is fine for us.

The EU has over the years insisted that all EU countries privatise their water. The Irish used to pay very little for their water, until privatisation.

I had wanted to build a big concrete cistern underneath a storage shed and patio to store rain water. The concrete being alkaline would lower the natural acidity of rain water. It is insane to treat all all water used within a home. It is equally insane to have flushing toilets - 40% of water used in the home is misused this way and it's more where older people are concerned. In the UK, all rivers are contaminated with sewage as is the sea. By using 10 gallon plastic containers with snap top lids, they could be left out side homes/blocks of flats and picked up,with sterilised ones left in their place. Human waste has more nutrients than animal waste. Very efficient composting plants could be built turning an expensive waste product into excellent compost to enrich farming land, however vested interests get in the way.

There are two products that a home needs to lead a modern life without Big Brother in control - potable water and semi treated water for washing/cleaning/laundry and electricity. UV treated water kills all bacteria. Swimming pools no longer need to use foul smelling chorine. Electric charge just before point-of-use and UV light take care of everything.

I have been thinking of reverse osmosis water too but have been a bit wary drinking it, reason is it's a bit too efficient as it also removes electrolytes and other trace elements normally occurring in tap water essential to our body, I am not really certain whether it's a big concern though, but it may be prudent to keep it in mind to keep the body replenished.
What I have been doing as a half-measure is boiling all drinking water especially attempting to get rid of the added chlorine, adding also a tiny bit of pink rock salt, although boiling doesn't remove everything I started doing this mainly due to health issues and noticeably reduced risk of getting some other certain ailments, especially during the autumn-winter season, anyhow, I tend to believe if one is eating plenty of veggies too should make up for the deficiency in ro water.

I will throw in the following article as a starter, there are many more out there.

If your eating a healthy balanced diet there is no problem. I get more than enough calcium and magnesium in my normal diet. Just check out what foods contain these elements. Trace elements are essential for both humans and plants. I got seriously interested in growing roses for exhibition until I was 16 then I found girls were more interesting😀. It was interesting to find that without very small amounts of different trace elements roses got serious deficiency problems as do humans. If you look at the specs for the Kent system it retains mineral elements.
