yeah
for first batch of pcbs (relays having common negative) - modifications are easy , here posts #13 and #14
upcoming, second batch of pcbs (relays having common positive) - no modifications needed

@frankwilker - you should have V3 boards (marked 2023). Ensure you are using the corresponding schematic I sent you.
Thanks for clarification, I wanted to make sure I hadn’t missed something along the line. I have rev 1 boards and was planning on building per #14.
@ItsAllInMyHead
I know, I have kept to this version. 👍Whereby I also have the other version in mind. There are several requests from DIYers who have already built this version and had asked me for a solution.
The shipment of the boards was announced for August 16.
Since I am abroad from 18.08 to 03.09.2023, the project will have to rest a few days 😎

Thank you Argos.
Here is the documentation via a complete assembly. The site is online, but can only be reached via these links:
https://www.audio-perfect.de/IronPre.en.html
The development is already a bit further than the documentation. After an update of the website, I will share this here.

Tremendous!…and to think, you accomplished all of this even while having to travel abroad for several weeks!
It looks great and the documentation is looking excellent.
I look forward to using the final product in my build.

Seems I secured the second to last IP kit from the store yesterday. Now this solution from Frank seems perfect for controlling the iron. So I am ready to order, but not sure if the audio-perfect.de shop is open for business yet for these boards and/or kits?
Frank is VERY thorough with testing and documentation.
The webpage related to his logic solutions for the Iron Pre will continue to be updated as he builds and tests his prototypes.
I’m sure he’ll post here when it is ready for distribution and add a link to his “Store” page.

When going for Franks iron pre volume and control with the nice Mean Well 5v supply, it seems that one should have just enough power for relays cpu and display? Looking at placing an order to mouser for the IP bom and adding RY5 W-K relays in this case.
Hi together😊,
Unfortunately, I had problems with setting the offset. That's why I didn't get any further for a while.
@Its allinmyhead: It was just a defective Multimeter. The JFets are well matched.

One first prototyp:
The solution with the castellated boards is really strongly. The board holds as if it was screwed down.Attachments
The Balanced solution is also under construction and almost ready.
Unfortunately, I was missing a chip for the port extension. That's why I couldn't finish the MC-board yet. This will be delivered next week. Then it will go into real operation. I am very curious about the sound myself.
Until then, I'll be tweaking the case:😢

Really nice integration with the IP
Enjoy the listening tests
Looking forward to hearing it myself

Now the bad word: cost of the solution.
I will post the prices for the different solutions on my website. I will explain them and am also open to comments and counter-suggestions.
The different variants (SE and balanced) will be available with the Meanwell and the HiLink power supplies. There is a price difference here because of the different power supplies. A solution with 2 power supplies because of a different voltage supply for the relays will of course also be reflected in the price.
In addition, I will offer connector boards for the XLR or RCA sockets.
Orders can easily be sent to me by mail (or pm) or via the contact function of my website.
Questions are expressly welcome.

Looking at the Muses datasheet, I see opamps on the outputs of the Muses chip. Are opamps not necessary when using a Muses solution with the IP? Put differently; Can the various available Muses boards (F Wilker, Meldano, HiFiOcean, etc.) be connected directly to the IP inputs without needing opamps? Iow, are the Muses output signals strong enough to be used by the IP?
And finally, are there any happy users of Muses coupled to IronPre out there, or is Muses attenuation + IP still experimental?
