looking for people who have repaired a JBL PB12 plate amp

the amplifier plate for the PB12 is famous for a very very high failure rate
there are two versions and both have that high failure rate
revision 1 is usually not repairable, however Revision 2 is very repairable, in fact there is an ebay seller that claims they have repaired thousands of the boards, however they want $140

I have looked all over the internet and I have found no one posting how they fixed the version 2 failures

has anyone repaired the revision 2 and would like to share that information? I have the service manual but I would prefer to know what its secrets are and not just jump in blind, knowing the common failure parts on this board is useful I think.

Seems a faulty product by birth, best swap out the amp, or use an external amp.
Swap means a totally new, higher rated amp, it seems to have been a poor design from the start.

Google-fu, the art of using Google!
All I did was put the name on line, and it seems to have been a big topic on different audio forums about the same time.
Many people were apparently in the same situation, and they all seem to have a problem with buying JBL again.

Here 12" woofer, about $35, amp about $60 and up.

Seriously, a closed box has poor ventilation, use an external amp, if the speakers are intact.

I do not know if anyone will believe me but more than once I have searched for something on my iPad and went to do the same exact search on my desktop so I could print a particular link found with the iPad search and the search results on the desktop were dramatically DIFFERENT !!!

Which country are you located?
Same as iPad?
Some countries direct traffic towards particular search engines.
If you feel that is happening, use a private browser like Tor browser.
I use Firefox, Chrome gives poorer screen resolution and too many ads, but it does not crash, Firefox does that all the time at some times, and runs smoothly at others.
Old Opera 12.18 is good, later ones are a skin on Chrome..

Apple may have issues with Google, or the iPad may be set with filters.
Set the IP to 8.8.4.4 for first DNS, second one set to 8.8.2.2, those are the direct google IP.
Or use a free domain setting....there are free DNS services available, you can use those.
That might change your results.
