I have a Millbank Talisman II amplifier, which is blowing its fuses.
It would be great if someone had a schematic, or an advide how to repair this kind of amplifiers.
This Talisman II amplifier is of the type Dynamic Loop System (DLS), and is constructed to feed a hearing aid loop in a meeting place.
The end stage transistors are 2 times 2N3055 and 2 times 2N3055H.
When the two fuses just after the rectifier/Elco's were blown, I replaced them with new ones.
After switching on, the amplifier became hot, smelled, and one of the fuses is blown again.
To fix this, I am looking for a schematic, or - even better - a repair manual for this kind of amplifiers.

Start by checking the TO-3 output devices to see if they are shorted. it sounds like it's already had a pair replaced. All four likely started out being the same part.
Thanks for your advice. In order to check for shortage of the transistors, will it suffice to use a digital multimeter in resistance mode, or do I need to test with higher voltages? The amplifier is 25 years old. Would it be a good idea to replace the 4 To-3 devices by new ones (of the same batch) or even by other types with better quality?
I was doing authorized service for them back in the 1999 i will have to dig my files ( paper ) and get back to you Though as said these amplifiers are very simple but not really if one doesn't have just the basics ...
Keep original transistors if those are still working

I know it's been a while, but did the schematics and/or manual for the Millbank II DLS ever materialise?
I have recently come into possesion of one and I'd like the documentation!
