Hello
I would like to ask the forum if you purchased it from Jac music in Germany is reliable? and you ask that because I deposit money for a transformer from 28/03/2014 and despite repeatedly e-mail you've sent I do not have ANY INFORMATION
Thank you

Hi,

Although I never bought anything from Mr. Jack Vandewalle myself, I do have quite a few acquaintances that have.
Quite frankly I never heard anything negative about the man nor his services so I'm rather surprised to hear about this.

That said he does support a local forum of his own so maybe it would be wise to address the problem over there?
After all, other than some echoes there's not much that can be done through this forum I suppose.

Best of luck, 😉

Hi everyone,
I bought some tubes and Lundahl transformers last year as well as recently, the delivery was quick as always. No problems whatsoever.
Jac is a great guy and always a reliable source for a good hint on some audio projects. He helped me with mine a lot.
So, all in all I would always recommend Jac for his good stock of quality products, nice personality and profound knowledge on audio, tubes, transformers, etc.
Best

Hello, Jac probably has a day time job so things can take extra time and they usually do. After ordering you will receive an email about the amount to pay. In this email you will also be informed if the parts are in stock and if they are they will send immediately and you will receive a tracking number once it has been send it is written. The second part is where things can be improved. You will not always receive a tracking code. The company that takes care of the transport does not succeed in delivering the parcel. They say there is no such adress ( this adres is linked to my paypal so then i would never receive things i order online) Of course a lot of these '' postal companies '' are using staff that is not service minded nor clever. If i would have a similar online company i would state on the website that unless it is a 1000$ plus order it will be send within a week so i would just have to go post office once a week.

Greetings,
Eduard

Hello, Yesterday i did receive an email with a tracking code showing that the parcel has been picked up so i will probably receive it within a few days. That is good because this week the cnc punching machine at work can be used to make some metal parts, like a gauge that i need to make drilling of a pattern easier in my stainless steel chassis to mount the choke.

In my dac i did replace most of the power supply parts but that chassis was made from alumium which can be drilled with a battery powered device. With stainless stell you need a bigger device and decent drills which are hard to find. Even in the professional world they will not sharpen drills anymore just throw away and take a new one.

Greetings,
Eduard

P.s photo is my dac with some power supply parts added

Hello, Some people that removing isolation from caps does make them sound better. French audiophiles did start doing this in the eighties. When i have the idea that it can be done without causing any negative side effects like a short circuit i will just do it. I never did compare between plastic and no plastic covered.

Some people did do and they claim it sounds better. It is something about the plastic being charged by ther current flow in the caps. In the eighties there was a product marketed by JVC called superblack which was a kind graphite based liquid which could be applied to plastic surrounding things like cables and caps. It has been discussed on this site before. Remember it were the French who did kind of reintroduce all these mono triode amps and big horn systerms in Europe again. They also did sell the Shinko tantal resistors and loads of other fine stuff The caps are Black Gate and they do sound fine. greetings,

Eduard

Guys,

Some designers take the influence of plastics on the sound of the audio system very seriously. As Edouard pointed, out Japanese audiophiles experimented with static charges of plastics 25 years ago already.

Jean Hirga of L'Audiophile" fame being half French half Japanese acted as a go-between for these and many other experiments in French speaking Europe. Controlling and damping vibrations in materials is another topic entirely. What is important here is the influence of a statically charged component interacting with the magnetic field and charge it is transmitting. Remember thirty years ago nobody believed in the sonic differences of so called "passive" components.

A resistor is a resistor is a resistor ad infinitum. Well that turned out to be not the case (measurably even). I recall Bernhard talking about the WBT plugs he once had that came at first with a slightly magnetic collet chuck. He heard a difference in sound quality, and so did many others. The same can be applied to plastics. Try for example the difference in a cable with enamelled or kapton lacquer insulation and one with a plastic based insulation, you will be surpised.

Then there's also the issue of multistrand versus solid core. Diodic effects,Peltier effects and so on. Try for a start to simply replace all those of the shelf power cords in your system with solid core you made up yourself. You can thank me later. Some of these topics are bordering on quantum physics,it's not because it is harder to understand that it ain't there.

I urge you all non-believers to check out the work done by folk at e.g. Jena Labs,Pearl and some others. Cryogenics for instance is nothing more than an extension of the thinking that went into the creation of long crystal OFC cables. And if you really want to see the work of a true believer check this site out: 404 Not Found All I'm saying is try it out for yourselves. The more revealing your system is the more you'll notice the differences.

Rgds,
Frank
