Who originally created the NE5532? I think Texas Instruments must have bought the original company who made them but I don't know who it was.

Texas Instruments has been a second source for many years but was not the originator of the device.
I was looking through my collection of various opamps and came across the OPA2277. It has far superior specs than the NE5532 for my purposes.
DC servo? - hard to see where to let OPA2277 touch full audio bandwidth with only 1 MHz GBW
Self lists the LM4562 as a pricey but clear audio spec improvement over the 5532
for fet input today the OPA164x series is nearly competive in input noise, modern output stage with better drive symmetry but not meaningful more i_out over 5532

The LME49710 is a single op amp, essentially a single LM4562. It's $0.85 in quantity, not something I'd call pricey, but yeah, that's 2x to 3x what a 5534 costs. They perform exceptionally well too, and compared to an AD797, they're a bargain!

NOISE= 8nV/√Hz voltage;0.2pA current.....fairly good
Current draw= 0.8mA per opamp....OUTSTANDING
Slew Rate= 0.8v/uSec....woefully SLOW
Conclusion: Excellent choice for battery-powered guitar FX boxes
