Near field speaker DIY

I see a lot of nice designs discussed here. I am looking to get back into speaker building I abandoned years ago. I want my first project to be a full range driver in an enclosure I can use at my desk.

Recommendations on driver/box suitable would be appreciated. I will be driving g themwithahomebuilt 6BM8 tube amp with very low power, but great sound.

TIA
Roger

How big? How much budget?

Thanks mayhem, but I don't want powered speakers. I want to drive my speakers with my 6BM8 amp I built.
The Q150 is not powered…..it’s passive. I’m a professional mixing engineer and have been using modified Q150’s as my main nearfield monitors for over 2 years now as they beat any 2way for clarity and coherence that I’ve ever worked with. Even ‘as is’ in the stock enclosure, they’re better than most.

Better. I followed Stephek on AudiKarma, her Skunkie designs YouTube videos on he build. It is a sweet little amp, puts out about a watt. You can see the small speake, it is from an old Sony surround systemI pilfered. It sounds okay, but I would like something abitbetter. I was thinking a small full range driver in a font port/vent box would work as they would be right against the wall.

Dave, yes, Weil, low power. I just want to build a small full range for listening at my desk, something like a 3” driver.

It is also a test case for a larger speaker for my 3-5 watt 6lu8 seul amp that is my main look cd and streaming listening.

THAT will likely be a super pencil.
