Need help with Tweeter replacement

Hi,

A year back I built SB 12.3 speakers and have been enjoying them for over a year. I love mid and low frequency on this speaker.

Tweeter : SB29RDC-C000-4

High is good but I want to make it better.
Is it possible to do it without measurements.
If yes, Any kind soul would look at the design and frequency response and suggest what tweeter can I replace it with. Has to be same size and metal face plate.

You could try decreasing the tweeter input resistor R0, if its 2.5 ohms you could try 2 or 1.8 ohm and see if that helps with what you do not enjoy.
A somewhat crude method but you don't have to measure and your ears will tell you if its better or worse.

I havent looked to confirm ut there are likely some other tweeters from SB acoustics that should drop in. A Satori ferrite magnet version would be better in terms of technical aspects you would have to compare impedance and frequency responses to see if you would have to change the tweeter input resistor, but you may get away without having to mod the xover components.

All of these things need further consideration and it could be effective and cheap to try resistor swapping first.

You could cover the area around the tweeter and mid range drivers with (black) absorption foam (5 mm.) or velvet material to avoid secondary sound sources. Could give better pin pointing / less reflections and a more calm imaging. Trial and error can have good results! Other option is to use a wave guide for the tweeter and reduce the angle so the high's don't bounce of the edges of the enclosure. That way you avoid unwanted reflections.
