New NXL550 R1.0 500 Watt MOSFET Amplifier Module

The NXL550 R1.0 amplifier module is a high performance, hi end amplifier module capable of over 500 watts into 4 Ohms and is 2 Ohm and 1 Ohm stable for short periods (60 sec).
Directly driven from an OPA462 High Voltage Op Amp.
It features the option of adding separate regulated input/driver stage supplies for even high performance.

The current power measurements were done on a +-70vdc linear power supply, higher power outputs can be achieved with voltage supplies as high as +-75 volts and with other versions that are capable of handling DC power supplies as high as +-90 volts DC.

The main PCB has an over temperature and over current LED status Flag which also serves as an output clipping indicator.

All of the technical testing has been completed and now for the listening tests.
The new NXL550 R1.0 amplifier modules have been mounted on a pair of our own planar heat sinks,
The sound quality is very good, with wide open and detailed sound stage, imaging is very well focused, the presentation sits on a inky black background.
No hint of harshness at all at any SPL, very clean and powerful, it just does not run out of power, very dynamic, bass response is well extended and tight, just a real pleasure to listen too!
A pair of new cases are currently been built for the new amplifier modules, they will feature a fully CNC machined and anodized front panels and other new features yet to be revealed and the new mono block amplifiers will also feature a new 1300 watt power plant per channel, to handle the 2 ohm loads up to 700 watts.
