I was wondering if anyone had thought about using this panel. I have been looking for a good lcd monitor to take apart and use for my projector. These things sell for $235.00 on pricewatch. It seems odd to me that some people claim that they have a S-video AV input and some dont say anything about it. But anyway they are 1024x768 with a good contrast ratio. If they are easy to take apart, it seems that they would be a good choice.
I think you should read the thread "this LCD kicks ***".
It has a cheaper Japanese LCD that is easy to take apart.

CR's awesome. Response time is awesome. SXGA is very nice. I'd say that's a very good deal if you can take it apart.
well someone has to try it , looks like its gonna be me
this site i found lists it as 1280x1024 but everyone else
says 1024x768 and the contrast listed is 400:1 and everyone else 350:1 hmmm i dono gonna have to call and confirm these first

I checked the manufacturer's site, its 1024x768 and 350:1 contrast. Cruser if you get one and it works then we would all have two options this and th I-O Data, be brave try it out, be careful too cuz if it doesn't work you can pout it back together and return it.

They claim to have a aluminum case, so one would think that they would be easier to take apart than plastic. Im glad to see someone is brave enough to give it a try.... btw, has anyone found a better price than 235.00 shipped?

hmm, look what i found here:
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/digitally-unique/senergy561.html
"* Displays a crisp, clear 1024 x 768 native resolution. Capable of scaling
at various resolutions from 640 x 480 up to 1024 x 768." so the 1600x1200 is scaled 🙁
"262,000 colors (6-bit), 16 million True Color by dithering."
on the other hand, it does have DVI input and 400:1 contrast ratio..
