Octal dual pentodes?

Yes I was asking about small signal tubes and yes they would have to have common k and g2.
Hey there! I don't know how to get ahold of individual members here, but I was you giving advice on a Crown SXA, and I have a late 50s prototype of that amp and was very curious about your regulated power supply and the way you did it, and hopefully some pictures. I'm rebuilding my 50s version from the tranny's up and I stopped a while back because I know that those two PT'S can be utilized separately, and then I'll have dual mono blocks in one chassis. It's been bothering me and your solution is the one I've been trying to suss out. I have a quartet of MATCHED nos MULLARD EL37's from a great friend who wanted a custom Leslie and I wanted those tubes! Also those bias lights, I'm thinking a fuse may suffice, because I don't like the compression they have when the amp is pushed a little. Unless that's a bad idea? I realize they were ingenious and inexpensive insurance on damaging that amp, but I have a feeling you pulled them as well. Also, mine had no grid stoppers, originally, but someone put a low ohmage resistor on the grids with some magnet wire wrapped around it, which I'm thinking they did to reduce hum (ineffective, as i think that's an RF blocker, and the hum on that one channel was anyone's guess, parasitic, bias pots, top many dodgy parts, hence my decision on a total rebuild). I think these are best served as you did yours, with regulated power, as that power gets sent too many places and opens it up to issues in both amps effecting each other... the other reason I decided on the rebuild. Much appreciate any info and very sorry to hijack your post, the other one was closed to comments. Thanks again.
Sean
