Hi, I have an old stock Phase Linear Aliante 10 (not the si version) woofer that I’m thinking of using behind the seat in our Hilux. The problem is, I don’t have any idea the box requirements. I have no specs to go by whatsoever. Do you have any experience with these so that you might be able to advise me on building a proper size sealed or ported enclosure?
Thanks for looking

By chance I had a friend of mine who was competing in SQ with exactly the same woofer.
Sealed box around 25L of volume if i remember correctly. Sounded unbelievably awesome.
It's a not a SPL sub by any means, so don't push it way too much and put a lot of power into it.

Google is your friend... 🙂 I remember the Phase Aliante from back then, it was all the rage!
Specs seem to be (not SI): fs 29Hz, Qts 0.4, Vas 31L (?) Mms 163grams
So the recommendation of Lenin is spot on... remember though that Xmax is only 4mm!

Lenin, thanks to your memory I now have a starting point to build a sealed box...
Stixx, I have an old PPI 2 channel I’ll bridge to provide the power. I’m quite sure I’ll never utilize the 200 watts the amp can make. The woofer will have an easy life as long as own it.
I have scoured the internet relentlessly for several months in search of these answers yet was quite disappointed when I found nothing.
Thanks for the help, I very much appreciate your kindness, both of you.
Live long and prosper

I found some specs on a russian site... searching from Germany. But what you can do... always... is trying the Wayback Machine (internet archive). Just type in phase linear and go back as far as you want...
Look what I found --> official specs from the original website. 😉

That’s Very impressive! I don’t have access to a computer nor do I know the software in order to input the parameters to calculate an output. I’m afraid my only option is to build the 25 litre cabinet & hope it works.
I sincerely do appreciate your efforts!

Glad to help out...
I quickly plugged in the specs in AJHorn (german software) and got the following. You can even go down to 20L, the difference is very marginal.
Due to the relatively high Qts it won't go much lower than ~38Hz when crossed over at about 120Hz, but that should still be plenty in a Hilux. 😀
