Hello All,
After cleaning up my workroom I found a cd624 lying around.
It looks great to modify and after reading some old posts I want to give it a try.
Just wondering of this modded players are still running and what mod improved the sound most?
I quess I will start with the power supply and the analogue output. Maybe someone can help me with a service manual for modding the digital circuit.
Best regards,
Roelof

There is not a huge amount that can be done to the DAC side of things. This is a fairly early bitstream player.
Adding an extra transformer or 2 to supply the analog side of things would help as would upgrading the existing with schottky diodes and (slightly) larger/better caps.
Extra regulators could also be installed for just about every supply line and chip, if you want to go the whole hog.
The usual items such as removing the headphone output (easy on this model) and also the muting circuits. Replacing the output opamp, damping the case and CDM, screening the chips with copper foil, fitting a "display Off" switch etc

Thanks Ebbe for the manual. Just removed the circuitboard out of the housing. Now I can find and trace the components much easier.
Like Andy suggested, I will concentrate on the power regulations and output amp. Maybe I will replace the X-tal for a Tent XO, but first the powersupply.
