Growing up in Alabama, snow was not much of a thing - although much more then than now of course. Lived on the lake and back then it still got cold enough that the sloughs froze over enough to ice skate. Well, put on ice skates and amuse the adults anyway...
Poor kids only really had one choice…if they were lucky!
No brakes, no steering, no nothing …NO KIDDING!
We had a very steep back yard that was terraced at two points…where we would strategically build snow ramps.
Kids would come from all over the neighborhood to ride.
