I want to re-use the RCA analogue ins and rewire as analogue outs as I need additional analogue outs to run in parallel to feed a 10X10 miniDSP HD so I can add subs to work with 7 channels.
Any ideas which components I should desolder to disconnect the RCA's to the existing circuit I'll hardwire from the other analogue out connections to the back of the RCA sockets for parallel connections (So I have two separate connections for each output and not need to build 'Y' cables)
It just feels sensible to remove the input connections on the board for the unused inputs. I can take out the resistors but it looks like the relays will still be connected ?
Its the 8 unused red RCA's I want to repurpose and dont want to desolder these from the board but do want to disconnect the signal to the board

If it was me, I'd just cut the etch going to the relay inputs. This would free the connection to the RCAs so you can wire them elsewhere. Jumping them back, should you later want to recover the original function, seems trivial - just a short piece of wire soldered between the pads you cut the etch between.
Thanks,
Maybe I should just desolder the relays, 8 pins each unit ? rather than damaging the board ?

Good question, I am recapping to see if I can improve the AV2 and replacing all the small 10uf caps with Silmics (you can see in the first picture a number of holes cross the board where I have removed something like 40 caps across the whole board, I marked up the +ve side with a small black dot). They came out well. I think I'll give it a go and see if I can get the Relays out neatly.
In many ways I dont really mind that much as I bought the spare AV2 as a 'mule' for modding. My plan is to upgrade, listen with the caps then if better (I expect it will be) purchase a Mini DSP 10x10 to work with the upgraded unit (which I will need the RAC's for). If it doesn't sound better I'll have to strip again and refit the 40 small caps I took out !

PS Anyone know if the relay is removed from the AV2 will have any issues ? I assume it will just send a voltage if that input selection is made by mistake and nothing will happen as the relay is not there ?
