RF impacts

Been around hi RF power transmitters all my working life, radar, aviation markers, TACAN, DME, airport ILS, name it.
Me and my wife (it helps 😉) we had 3 healthy boys, now 34, 32 and 27, all in technical fields, if you can count quantic mechanic a technical field 😉. Also I soldered with nasty fume lead solder since I’m 13, indeed it depends on distance.

I worked for long hours (multiples days) near high power transmitters Magnetron and Klystron, I’m glad my family is all healthy and these days are gone…

If you ask my wife for the last 40 years (she a very patient and understanding one), she could tell you it explained a lot LOL…

Some people can live in a sea of RF their entire lives and suffer no ill effects. Some will probably develop cancer from the 455 kHz local oscillator in the transistor radio sitting on the desk next to them. And some will just be looking for someone/something to blame. Until we figure out which DNA sequences get screwed up and how, no one will ever know anything definitive.

Lead solder isn’t any different, as some people simply absorb Pb more than others. Although likely that a larger percentage of the general population is susceptible compared with RF pollution.

A member of a friend’s family had worked for 40 years as the primary technician responsible for a television transmitter.
He unfortunately has Parkinsons now, likely as a result of regular cleaning of the insulator with toluene.
Healthy and smart offspring…

I think I am still very sensitive to RF radiation. For example, after repairing the UHF handheld walkie-talkie, I used about 4W power + spiral antenna for transmission test. After a little time, I would feel uncomfortable in my head. There is a high-voltage line passing over the lawn at the back of the campus, I don't know the specific voltage, but I estimate that it is not lower than 50KV, and I can hear the obvious "zizi" sound below. Every time I pass by there, I will feel uncomfortable all over the body, so I rarely go there, but some people just chat happily under the lawn or even fall asleep, which is very confusing to me. Maybe it's just individual differences

As for the impact of radio frequency on the body, in HAM's group chat, it is spread that the more people are exposed to radiation, the greater the chance of giving birth to daughters, and someone even launched a small voluntary voting type statistics, of course, this is all joking and entertaining, but the statistical results actually responded positively to the above speculation.😀 I come from China and have used translation tools to process the text, so I may not be satisfied with the accuracy and habitativeness of the expression, but I am very interested in this topic and would like to participate in the discussion.🙂
