In the spectrum, which indicates positive or negative phase for say, H2? Does the polarity of the harmonics change sign?
Thank you!
Thank you!
Click the settings (cog) at the top right and select 'Distortion Settings' and then check the box for 'Show Phase of Harmonics'. +90 degrees H2 is (maximum) negative phase and -90 degrees is (max) positive phase if I am not mistaken, and you will see a phase angle beside the harmonic value in the distortion panel.
Don’t completely trust the polarity, or at least that’s been my experience. Gear that I know to have a -90deg H2 are always represented as +90deg. Could be my setup, but it’s worth taking the polarity with a grain of salt.
Thank you for the tip codyt!
I am playing with my BA3-FE. So far, - phase on H2 seems to move the vocals or soloist farther back from the listener and + phase towards the listener. Reference is at minimum H2 and H3 as set by P3. I confirmed that CW or CCW from this point of lowest H2/H3 will increase H2 and will let you decide which polarity to go .

What twitchie said. I've tested with REW and DiAna and -90 degrees H2 on REW is shown as positive phase on DiAna.

Thank you Ben! Very helpful!
It seems like my observation is reverse. Maybe because my speakers LF is in-phase and HF is out of phase for normal operation.
