In my experience with big woofers, for best imaging cross them over as low as possible. I would guess 100Hz could be achieved, or you might try simply supplementing the full range's natural roll-off. I'm using that approach at the moment, and it doesn't take much... Enjoy!
What model between the 6ohm MAoP 7.2 and the 8hom Maop10.2 will be flea watt amplifier friendly as i have a low power ClassA Vfet amplier for it?
Personally I'd get the larger unit, if you're not planning on nearfield listening; the amplifier will thank you for giving it a load with higher efficiency (and sensitivity).
Dispersion between MAOP 5 or MAOP 7, which way would you lean for a WAW with RS225?
I have MAOP 10.2s and I love them, but I’m getting frustrated with their dispersion profile for my main system. I’ve got about a 80cm wide space that they sound best in and if I lean outside of that the image snaps onto one side or the other. Unfortunately this spot is in the middle of my couch and when I’m sharing the couch, music gets locked into a near mono image.
A local distributor has the two smaller MAOPs on special, hence the discussion.
System is fully active and would be a three if I swapped from 10.2s to WAW.
