34Hz THorn v3

In the Cad model above, If sides aren't fitted over the flare, then it models as a TL with 1/3 offset and smaller bandwidth but lower tune. Anywhere from 20-40Hz can be tuned, changing segments in the template. Even 160 Sd seems best for this low Vas driver, no taper. I will be building that to break it in and then take T/S. But off-topic as doesn't use the TH function

Anyway, that's enough about these. Don't think they qualify. The PRV driver sim looks good

Just looking at the 6" TangBand 38hz tapped horn. In particular the 38hz double folded version.
Would it work, to make the enclosure wider as to accompany a suitable 12" driver, to get higher spl but the same frequency response?
I'm assuming it isn't that simple as someone surely would have thought of it before. But just checking, as to why?

Yeh, as soon as I posted that I realised it wouldn't work.
Not because of my size restraints. Just upscaling cabs like that won't work I guess?

I was just reading that funnily enough. Doesn't sound great, looks cool though.
I won't be building that anyway just interested in reading various builds.

Previous page, last post has the linkAhh awesome , what was that driver you posted ZXi
where it says that ?? i was looking in the specs and nothing...
i tested it on the PAL12 and look horrible
those are for BR boxes right ?

How many litres is the PAL12? This thing seems happy in 20-40L and can go below 20Hz. The manual in the box states 35mm. The website had all the Xmax removed. They are testing all the drivers after breaking them in. There is an anomaly in the specs due to DVC where a mix of single coil and series coil data may be in the spec. I'll measure the T/S on mine once I have some confidence that these can actually be measured for a such a stiff driver with such small signal
Keep an eye on the Volcano subs thread. I think I finally have the box I want to do initial tests with. Will post the sims and pics later today and if all looks good, build the test box and replace the JLAudio 12W7 in the W7 premade box in the car to break in. Will be a good test against the very high end JL. The W7 line of speakers are also in the JL Gotham. If I can get the Volcano to sing as note sweet as the W7, I would meet my goals

It's made for micro boxes, don't go much over 80L in quarter wave and 40L in BR. 20L looks perfect for sealed. I ran many sims to come up with 6-10LL as the optimum throat chamber before the line starts for TH. Weird driver with anomalous specs. Actual testing and listening will tellthis is what i get when i sim the DS18 12 in TH boxes
The 10" ZXI makes for an interesting sim, better behaved and louder. I tried working out and correcting for the DVC anomaly (Qes, BL and LE need to be figured out per coil and then configured correctly for series or parallel. Hr help file has details on this and works in WinISD too) and the 12" blooms beautifully, but it's just a guess, so didn't try it again. Might order a DATSv3 tomorrow and try to measure this properly
Like I mentioned, keep an eye on the Volcano thread. Should be some good progress now that most of the CAD work is done. I'll present the two TLs to break this driver in later today. The CAD model needs to be adjusted to 16mm sheet first as I have more of those offcuts. I'll also show how to deaden 12mm and 16mm MDF effectively too with the test boxes. I call this method 'drop stitching'

What kind of weight would make any difference to a driver this stiff?do you need some kind of weight to measure the T/S parameters with DATS V3
