The TC9FD is also an excellent performer in that regard (and most others).Nice to see a Lavoce driver tested. The 6.5" MAN061.80 is another nice driver from lavoce with high sensitivity and near satori levels of midrange distortion.
The 3" lavoce FAN030.71 is very good at low to moderate SPL, but it's short voice coil causes distortion to rise at higher volumes. Not unusual for 3" drivers it seems, with the 10F being the exception.
great, thank you very much! The review of the new BlieSMa 3" dome midranges - M74A-6, M74B-6, M74P-6 and M74S-6:
You say that this driver has "Satori like levels of midrange distortion". What's the basis for that? Do you have measurements or links to them that you could share?Nice to see a Lavoce driver tested. The 3inch LaVoce doesn't seem to have an air vent on the back (through the magnet structure).Nice to see a Lavoce driver tested. The 6.5" MAN061.80 is another nice driver from lavoce with high sensitivity and near satori levels of midrange distortion.

I am almost wondering if that also doesn't contribute as well?
The distorsion profil is not so good in its usable (mid) range... and look at that huge break-up! If the price is a problem there are a lot of better 3"... Peereless, etc.
Thanks for the review.
Thanks for the review.
how about an old range rover?I recommend restoring 2nd hand cars. A nice 1970s-era Lotus, Jensen, Lamborghini, Maserati, Lancia or de Tomaso should be just the ticket. Nothing ever goes wrong there, all straightforward, cheap as chips to fix up. 😉
They're relatively easy to work on and parts are available and fairly cheap. I have a mate with an old one, maybe late 70s and he's a hard 4WDer and beats the snot out of his most weekends on hard trails. He also has an ancient Land Rover but that has issues with dogs. Owners walking theirs keep hitting the rear of it as it can't move fast enough to get out of their way.how about an old range rover?

Just kidding. Extraordinary work there. Thank you for the time and effort in doing it.
Now I just have to find the money for the Be to compare to the ATC and haven't decided on the T25B or the Satori TW29BNWG.
Do you remember the film "The Gods Must Be Crazy"?
The Rover in it was named "the Antichrist"!
now back to our useful thread...

Thanks for all who found the review USEFUL🙂Very well-crafted review of the BlieSMA midrange drivers. Thanks!
I see the faceplate is removable for attaching a waveguide, but Bliesma says to specify this when ordering. Do you know what is different when you specify waveguide use?
Great review of the Bliesma 3" domes !
Very interesting are the "Listening impressions" of the different cones.

Absolutely nothing, excepting a bit labor-intensive technology of assembling. In series models the front part is a little glued to the surround, so, there is a risk of misalignment.I see the faceplate is removable for attaching a waveguide, but Bliesma says to specify this when ordering. So that removable faceplate isn't normally removable like the picture shows, but is glued to the body?
Thanks, so much, for the excellent M74 reviews. I got to say, though, that I'm disappointed with the HD measurements. I don't think I'd use the M74B above 2k or so. I sure hope that Purifi makes a smaller midrange.

So should be on the dome list
Owner of a set of P81 I have talked to says tonally it is superb

Thanks very much amazing test ! Not convinced about the paper - I wonder if they tried the Kraft paper favoured by Heco ?
