Sundown SAE-1500D

Amp has very distorted output . If I only hook up power ground and remote to the amp nothing else this is what I get on both positive and negative speaker terminals .

Is this normal ?

The 2nd picture is with power ground and remote hooked up only no rca jacks and a test speaker hooked to the amp .

This appears to simply be a transient from the startup of the amp and the second photo is simply noise.

If you drive the amp hard, do you see a lot of noise on the B+ terminal? Connect the scope's ground clip to the primary ground and probe the positive terminal (scope set to 20v/div and 2us).

There are no driver boards in the amp everything is in the main board .

I know you don’t like videos but I’m sending you a 10 second video to your email so you can hear the noise I’m referring to . The noise is present with only power ground and remote hooked up and a test speaker

Again, the video was useless. With video, there are no references to judge them by.

1. Does the noise stop when the RCAs are plugged in?

2. Does any combination of the various controls make the noise change (better or worse)?

3. Drive the amp hard <<? Does that mean you have to drive the output to high power (high current through the outputs) or will it do it with a light load, driving it to clipping?

4. Could it be a low-voltage problem when driving it hard?

5. Is the output clean up until protection?

The noise is still present with the rcas plugged in .

Nothing seems to change the noise when I adjust various switches or pots

I drive the output to high power

And the voltage remains the same at 13.7 volts

Output is very noisy all the time .

I’m gonna check a few things then post back
