Hi,
I hope this was not previously mentionned but I've just noticed the following on e-bay, a very nice looking TA2024 based amp ready to use. With the basic mods of the original Sure TA2024 you've got an amp ready in no time ;-
The price looks right considering the nice enclosure, volume know and banana plugs.
2*15W @4Ω TA2024C Class-D Audio Amplifier on eBay.ca (item 230417583984 end time 27-Jan-10 18:34:08 EST)
Regards,

This is from the auction description....
It could be clue to a bad layout that they later revised; so buy with caution.
eBay said:Note: The first batch of this item is LAB PROTOTYPE and you can get it at a discount price.

I just bought a "Q10" amp from a seller in China. I'm not sure how good it is, but for the price, I'll take a chance; just like this one. For $40, it's worth trying it out.
Some of the wording, though... "The corrugated alloy housing won't make you feel slippery even you hold it in your hands for long time."

cewl, according to the manual the box has a microcontroller to have the "LED lighting in a breathing-effect state"?

YES, I bought one to have a try. As you turn on the amplifier, the light will be illuminated all the time. But as you turn off and also support it with power supply, the light is beginning to flicker very slowly, it seems like a person are breathing. It is so smart. one more word, Sure uses a "Exquisite box" to pack the items. I never bought so nice things with such a low price before. i bought two to send as a Christmas gift to my friend, they also like it. wish for their further products later.
I bought one and it is as nice as Trends TA-10. Sounds VERY similar. No gold plated connectors, but in my opinion thats better that they are not so big. A 10/10 in my rating.

I have also read in the amplifier manual that in the OFF position is a LED Lighting with a breathing-effect state. For me, this is a nearly No-Go (stop buying) argument. If I switch OFF the amp, it should be really OFF, nothing should blinking hours and hours, all the night long (I want to sleep in a dark, no blinking room!). I think a permanently blinking LED would make me absolute crazy for the long term. Therefore my question: Is it possible to switch off the LED complete in the OFF Position? (Though the permanent lighting in the ON position is beautiful and o.k.). Does anyone knows how stop this annoying blinking? (To disconnect the plug couldn't be the elegant solution)
Bought one and was surprised. The sound was brilliant. Like it very much. Nice little amp

Hi all,
I lately bought my first Tripath based am and went for the sure ta2024.
So I bought th 2024c amp with digital encoder volume control (not very happy with it but it works).
After a while i started to hear a "pop" on turning the amp on.
At the same time the right channel started to sound dull, as the heights started to disappear.
I decided to open it and had a look for blown caps or cold solder points. Then I realizad that it was the 2024 chip and not his 2nd revision the 2024c.
I emailed sure with the details of the problem and they asked me make a short video depicting the problem.
After a few days they replied and sent me a replacement amp. Great service, I have to say, but the normal you would expect from a serious company.
The replacement sounds great, and for curiosity I looked inside: this time it was the 2024b...
A good service but still no 2024c...
