Hey guys, been wondering to built a pair of these beautys but, in my country isnt a dealer that sell the bc 10cl51. Yet ive found an oem bc speaker, called 10/151-8 that maybe can fit this horn.
Art, could you tell me if this speaker will fit nicely in your syntripp design?

Is it covered in a vinyl? The finish looks great. A different look to the plain black we see all the time.

What's the highest SPL one get from a pair of SyntripP?

@ Mrscy. The SyntripPs have a sensitivity of around 99db/w(half space)@1m. So maximum spl of around 126db(half space) @ full power. We have run our SyntripPs(w/ N314X-8) @ 118-120db@1m for extended amounts of time and they never sounded strained or distorted. They will outrun a pair of Keystone subs especially for electronic music.
We have found that a pair of SyntripPs and 4 keystones will provide more than adequate spl/coverage for around 150-200ppl outdoors. Ive also found that because of the directive nature of the SyntripPs they seem to sound louder and more clear than most conventional speakers at similar spl.
I have also just completed a pair of PM90 Midhighs w/ DCX-464. They do measure better, have an extended frequency response up to 20khz and seem to have a bit more clarity/detail in the upper mid range however so far I would say I prefer the sound of the SyntripPs overall. The SyntripPs have the best stereo imaging of any PA speaker I've heard. Also the PM90 costs about 3x more for components/amps however the SyntripPs are perhaps a bit trickier to build/assemble properly because of the compound miters and DIY throat transition.

Will also maybe measure mine next Saturday. Just had them on a vaccs party running them on half the loudness till the limiters whould kick in while people 50m away complained they could not talk a word to each other.

Always enjoy hearing user reports when guys can build and compare different highly regarded designs, like the SyntripPs and PM90.
I haven't heard the PM90 using the DCX-464 or the SyntripP. The BMS is all I've used in the PM 90/60s.
But it doesn't surprise me that you overall prefer the SyntripPs....there's just something about the sound of co-located drivers in the Synergy/Unity type boxes.

Getting started on my SyntripP build out. Having a 4'x4' cnc router makes cutting almost everything from sheet stock easy! Combine it with a digital angle gauge, an assembly fixture and some custom cutting fixtures and the protype is done and ready. Need to make some tweaks to the cad files, mainly on the box as as designed it just doesn't fit quite right. But we're moving forward, woofers are here, power is here and I'm working on 3d printing my cone plugs and throat adapter. Next one will probably be rough plywood v2.0 and then we move onto making the final ones out of some really nice cabinet grade 12mm B/BB baltic birch.

Looks great! Question: It looks the wood mounts for the woofer are not coming together where the compression driver is..am i missing something?
