Amp power need for 2 X0c1’s
Hello all, thanx for this nice read an the cutting plannes.
Soon we wil start built the firs 2 of these th18.
We have an Powersoft T302 avadible, with ist power of 1500@4 per speaker.
Is this enough for the speaker loaded wit 18SW115-4.
Or maby woud it be better to load them wit 18lw2400 if the amp would be not stong enough.
The amp we have already but the speaker we must stil order, so is anny of you can help me with this choosing
Manny thanx

I think the T602 would have been better for you, but the T302 will still make plenty of noise - it's less than 3dB different.
I do like the Powersoft T-series amplifiers.

wow!
Wow 1.000.000 that's quite an anniversary .... congrats!
I recently started building my first TH18 Cabinet ... Took me 6 years to start this project 😉
I'm super excited to try it out once it's done 🙂
Here are some pictures of the build so far....

Hi all.
Just a quick note to say.
'Thanks a million'
For the views.😀
Count me in as another! I've been mulling over multiple designs for what seems like forever (Ok, maybe just a few months), looking for the design that pops out. Keystone, othorn, wrecker, sbh, etc.
Ive decided on giving these a go. Im on limited budget but goal is to build 4 of them to use at small local shows.
Martin,
What I decided I liked best about your design is that multiple, less expensive drivers i've modeled in them work amazingly well, as well as the stronger more expensive ones! Albeit less output, but not a complete disaster either. I initially wanted to try Ricci's othorn but with the throat compression so high, it requires specific drivers that are out of my price range for building multiple cabinets.
I also decided i'm going to give the PRV 18SW2200v2 a go. At just over 200 a driver, i can manage to pick up a spare or 2 for emergencies.
Sims for PRV 18SW2200V2
First one is 2.83V with no filter. Second one is at 89.44V or 1000 watts with no filter. Next i added 30hz HP@24db L/R and a 130HZ LP @48db. Also added 4 cabs parallel. This boosted the low end and flattened it even more while dropping displacement to 10mm which is xmax for these drivers. Im thinking my pair of XLS2000's will be about right for 4 of these. a pair on each bridged @4ohms.

You might want to double check with Ricci. I want to say he likes designing some of his enclosures with Alpine Type R's.
