I'm counting the days down to turn 55, and I don't want to be older any faster, but I have felt like I was born in the wrong time for all of my musical heroes. I can only dream about what that memory must feel like to have witnessed, and experienced so many of the long since passed greats. I've seen many of my favorite legacy bands, but not in most of their prime periods. Zappa, Kansas with Kerry and Steve, Tony William's Lifetime, Janis, Miles, Weather Report with Jaco, etc...the list could go forever. I'm sitting here cranking Blow By Blow, saddened and feeling more time pass knowing that my personal favorite guitarist has now exited stage left, but also grateful for the inspiration that they all have blessed us with, and praising the gods and goddesses of recorded sound and music, for without it, life would be much less good. Glenn.
Seattle arena. Joe's Garage. 20 feet from the stage. The band was right there. I was a college kid, dancing with some biker chicks. Best rock concert in my life. The PA was really good, not too loud, so you could hear the instruments and the musicians very well. Frank, and the band, were in top shape.
At one point one of the bikers turned around and saw me dancing with "his" chick. I smiled, gave him the OK sign, he looked at me, smiled, gave me the OK sign and turned around to enjoy the show.
Everyone gave each other room.. It was outstanding. Almost three hours of show. Everyone got along famously and Zappa, and band, radiated music, mellowness, peace and fun. The music and the humor washed over all of us. Like a Telefunken U47.
It was a "trip" for sure. ;-)

I recommend that 78-79 band bootcamps.
the live version are often better then the originals.

Mr Terry "Ted" Bozzio! Young Terry has now become one of the elder statesmen, to the adoring masses of percussive pounders, but here he is in all of his NOT SAFE FOR WORK, youthful glory!! Come on...did you expect Sansabelt gabardine, complete with pleats and creases???? Glenn.
