Two amps into a speaker

1. low wattage class D amps
2. instead of a DpDt switch
3. Could you wire a speaker to two amps if only one amp is turned on at one time?
4. If problem of voltage going into the 2nd amp, could you used a diode (size?) and I assumed only on one leg of the circuit.
Thanks

Simply answer is no, you can't do this, and yes, it may damage the amp.

Unpowered circuitry can behave unpredictably when subject to non standard voltage inputs, and that applies more so to circuitry on a chip such as Class D... for example there could be 'parasitic' semiconductor junctions that come into play, each behaving unpredictably and in a non linear way, possibly even forming parasitic parts such as a thyristor that would latch and short out the applied voltage.

Any kind of diode or diodes used to isolate a speaker feed from seeing an externally applied voltage would prevent that feed working normally when required.

So the simple answer is no 🙂
