Hi Guys,
I am looking to build a valve amp and Morgan Jones mentions using software to layout a template for planning and cutting out tubes abs component holes .
Can anyone recommend a free software for windows or MAC that is easy to use?
Thanks

http://www.frontpanelexpress.com to do real mechanical 2D design (free software). SketchUp is usefull for 3D design not for a 2D design with real dimensions (It can do it but is difficult). Front panel software has a .dxf export feature and the file can be directly used by a machine to manufacture.
The software is intended to do the mechanical panels or boxes from the site but you can use the software just to do a 2D design 😉
This how I use the 2 softwares for my system designs (Front Designer & SketchUp Pro).
