Where do you get standoffs?

I used 10mmx6.2mmx7.5mm white Nylon plastic spacers to stand off my cross-over board from the case. The No.10 (4.8mm) x 32mm long Torx Mushroom head (12mm) A2 stainless wood screws to fix the board went through the spacer holes.

I’ve made my own using dollar store plastic clothes hangers. They have a void in the center of the section. Cut to length, finish drill .089”, tap with a 4-40 tap.

If I had a lot to do, I would make the effort to find proper parts, but for the (4) parts every couple years or so, it works for me.

there’s a gap at the top of the threads before the hex shaft which makes them look odd when installed.

You mean like this first example? There are other mfrs that make them as you want, like the second example.
Avoid aluminum male spacers, because they break off easily.

This is what I bought: 971100324 Wurth Elektronik | Mouser

You can see in the picture and the datasheet that there is a small gap at the top of the threads. I didn’t look closely enough, because I didn’t know that was a possibility.

There have been some good suggestions in this thread. I guess I have to inspect any given product to make sure the threads go all the way up.

While I’m asking for things, does anyone know where I can get unplated brass, or gold plated? I prefer the yellow color. Not a huge deal.

The washers I have aren’t thick enough, so I’d have to double up. Or get new washers. Since I need more anyway, figured I’d try to find something that worked as I wanted.

About half my need is for pre-drilled holes, so I couldn’t run a bolt from the other side. Others that might be a possibility. I’ll see what the hardware store has when I go in a little bit.
