Where to buy Radio transmitter receiver moduls for DIY wireless speakers?

Dear friends,

My plan is to build very simple set of 5 separate active speakers (based on full range drivers, no crossover) and feed them audio signal wirelessly by radio waves from a single source - computer, phone. Preferably, via a DAC.

Now, what is the exact name of the equippment i need to do that? I mean the parts needed to convert signal from the DAC into radio waves and - on the amplifier side - to feed the amps with audio signal carried out by radio waves?

I guess its called radio transmitter / receiver or transciever? Where exactly do you recommend to buy them? What brands? Do I need anything else to connect transmitter to the phone / DAC? And on the other end, any other parts to connect receiver with standard class D amplifiers?

Can such whole project be done if I have little knowledge about electronics, just basic knowledge about audio gear?

Thank you.

Watching this thread. I too have been looking for such an animal. It's only for surround, so I don't care about hi-fi standards, just convenience. I hate the idea of losing all that signal through wiring and it looks nasty.

These are presumably too low-end for your project, but there are more from various kit pcb makers on the auction sites. I’m using one to make a shop system more user friendly soon.

I have a pair of 2way, 5.5” powered speakers that I made using these boards, are powered by common laptop power brick.

Try and stick to the Bluetooth 5.0, is worth it.

The problem is 5. Things audio seem to come in 2's, 4's, 6's. For example a elegiant bti-066 is a two channel wireless transmitter receiver, uses BT 5.0. I've never heard of a 3,4,5 channel BT device.

What's the 5 speakers each going to be doing? Each mono, two stereo, one mono the other two reverse stereo? Can the receiver handling all 5 be in one place, or does each speaker have to have their own receiver - no wires to a common point allowed?

They say with the latest BT you can get two headphone pairs, paired - that's 2 channels out to two receivers. If you want 5 independent channels with a rotary switch (1 through 5) selecting which channel on each speaker, I wouldnt know where to begin.

Thanks for all replies. It seems that bluetooth will be problematic here, as it can only connect one source to one amplifier /active speaker.

My idea is to have 5 , separate stereo speakers all receiving audio signal from 1 source. Can bluetooth do it? I dont think so. Thats why radio waves perhaps?

Its like having 5 stereo radios around the room.

But - i want each speaker to have opposing left - right channels, so each fire sound 180 degrees apart from each other , in opposite directions on horizontal axis.

5 of these will fill the room evenly with both channels.
Its omnidirectional setup, just not with 2 speakers radiating 360deg but with 5 , two-channel speakers radiating both channels in many directions.

Can i transmit music from my PC by radio waves?
And then catch such signal at each of my 5 speakers?

Check partsexpress.com again. They seem to have a few solutions for single transmitter/multiple receivers, here's one of their products. Not sure this is what you need:
