How about a Unity or Synergy horn?
I've heard several types of horns in my life, mainly the traditional Klipsch. To be fair, never for more than several minutes at most. The first/only true horns I have owned are modified Yorkville Unity U15. These were a lucky used buy. Crossovers were bad, drivers good. I made some simple mods and run them active EQ. Of course, they are EQ-ed to my own preferences. They are easily the best speakers I've ever owned in terms of imaging etc. I can't compare them to other horns, this being the only pair I have experience with. The Unity/Synergy offers advantages most other horns cannot, such as virtual point source, few or no nulls, etc. Available brand new as cheap as low $2000/pr. (U15 recently discontinued) and double or triple that for the real Danley Synergy line.
