Hi all,
I am new to this forum and audio engineering in general so please forgive any misconceptions I have.
I have been tasked with designing a wireless PA system featuring two wireless speakers and a wireless microphone for guest speakers to talk into in a booth at a convention.
I am looking for a cost-effective way to transmit microphone signals wirelessly and output them from the two speakers. I am considering using Bluetooth Tx/Rx pairs to connect the two speakers to a Bluetooth mixer through some sort of physical connection with Rx, and use the Bluetooth capabilities of the mixer to stream microphone audio inputs into it. I do not need high quality audio as this is not for music, but for speaking. If you see any blatant problems in my system please let me know.
Here is the mixer I was thinking of using: Amazon.com: 3 Channel Bluetooth Audio Mixer - DJ Sound Controller Interface with USB Soundcard for PC Recording, XLR, 3.5mm Microphone Jack, 18V Power, RCA Input/Output for Professional and Beginners - PAD30MXUBT : Musical Instruments
I have also been looking at different Tx/Rx pairs but haven't decided on a direction yet that I want to go with. I also am unsure on the speaker I will use, though am pretty sure if going with my approach I can get away with two cheap speakers with a 1/8" inputs for the BT adapters.
My first impression is that my approach seems convoluted for all the Tx/Rx adapters I would need. I looked around, however, and I cant seem to find another method that doesn't consist of just buying a whole wireless PA package for $1000-$2000 and am wondering if anyone knows of a fairly reasonably priced module that has integrated multi-channel wireless connectivity so I can do this without using multiple questionable quality Tx/Rx (or perhaps a Bluetooth master that can interface with multiple slaves, though I understand this is not supported by any BT other than 5.0 and even then only two slaves.)
My second concern is the audio latency. As this will be used for speaking a small amount of latency should be ok (<50 ms) but too much and it may become difficult to speak with the delayed output.
I know that I am asking for a lot with this system but I think the most important thing is that it functions correctly, cost is secondary, however some wireless systems require a large investment that I would prefer to avoid should there be a better alternative.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
TL;DR: I am looking for suggestions for wireless mic & 2*speaker system for guest speaking at small convention and am looking for advice.

The first rule of wireless is... use a cable instead wherever possible.
How far apart will the speakers be and how far will the mic be from the mixer?
As described you need 3 recievers...one at each speaker and one at the mixer... assuming fairly significant distances between items. BT wireless is not reliable over long distances so if this is going into a typical ballroom you can write off that option.

Not to mention time delay, not a problem if you're using it purely for playlists. Double BT delay will make for a really annoying system to use with video. Cable solves this easily, and there's no risk of people fudge'ing up the BT connection...
So, two speakers and a mike, Right ? No music.
Why complicate things ?
Connect the wireless mike to one speaker & then connect a XLR cable from the link out to the other speaker. You'll always have to run power cables to the speakers, so the audio cable runs along it.
If You need background music .. a pen inserted in one of the speakers (Mp3 player built-in or tablet via Bluetooth) will also work fine.
If You insist using a mixer there are in-ear monitors and speaker transmitters which can transmit wirelessly to the speakers.

I own 4 Behringer B112MP3. They have MP3 built in and are claimed 1000W. They work fine, but they aren't designed to play loud for long time. The output amp inductors are undersized and get very hot. I had to glue mine. Now looking for better inductor substitutes. I use them mainly for background / ambient music. They should work fine for speech.
