hi ,
I have this USB TO OPTIC (TOSLINK )
Xitel's DG2 MD-Port - The Tech Report - Page 1
It used to copy music from the compter to MINI DISK
I tried to use it as usb to spdif(optic) and connect it to DAC
and its working well
My qeustion is does it pass the music from the computer to the DAC LOSSLESS or LOSSY ?
thanks

why would it not be?
if the hardware says it supports 44.1 (and its from that old period of sound cards) then as long as your os supports sampling at 44.1 then you don't get bit loss.
there was no dsp or anything fancy with this adapter, so any reported SR is one that can work without resampling. if you are not resampling, you are ok.
