If you're looking at the PS drive waveform, you need to be on 10us, not ms.

I can make no sense of what this is. What does the scope show with the ground connected to the tip of the probe?

on 10us is difficult to catch it, it's bouncing from flat to a dome type waveform

Do you have a battery that you could test the scope on?

i have a small 12v battery you use for a home alarm system. I believe it needs to be charged though

It can be any voltage. I don't know what's causing the odd waveform you were getting. The battery will take the supply out of the equation.

i've got a 9v battery from my other DMM, things are so crazy around here.

Connect the scope across the battery and post what you get on your scope.

If your scope has a 'cal' or 'var' control, set it to cal. Repost the display.

just curious but does it matter or not if the rail transistors are in play? during the testing of the power supply section that is, not the 9v battery..lol

I'm not sure what you're asking regarding output (rail?) transistors.

You must determine why your scope is reading 9.5+v as 5.02v.

the output relays are clicking and I'm getting voltage to the power supply fet pads. How does this pass for jumpers on the input drivers? Or should I use kapton tape under the jumpers? I'm not sure on the insulation.

Input? Are you referring to the power supply driver transistors?

Input typically means audio input.
